Young Women’s Support Group [Malealea, 10/21/2017]

The Young Women’s Support Group is a joint initiative between the Malealea Development Trust and Africa’s Gift. These women gather and learn how to sew table mats and reusable sanitary pads. These are then sold, and the proceeds returned to the girls. While they sew, MDT administrator Manthabiseng Mokala teaches Life Skills. They discuss HIV prevention, self esteem, personal finance, and more. I visited one of the girls’ monthly meetings. These photos were commissioned for the MDT’s website
