Men’s Support Group [Malealea, 10/19/2017]

The Men’s Support Group is a new initiative by the Malealea Development Trust endeavoring to involve men in development work. They work on anti-erosion projects together, and when they take their breaks, MDT staffers run Life Skills discussions. They discuss everything from HIV prevention, to the abuse of women, to the importance of men acknowledging their own emotions. Many of these men dropped out of school at a very young age to become herd boys. I visited one of the men’s meetings. These photos were commissioned for the MDT’s website
